Glazer family issue Manchester United staff ban after Sir Jim Ratcliffe 25% acquisition

The Glazer family have issued a whole-staff ban at Manchester United after Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s 25% acquisition of the club was confirmed.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is set to have his £1.3 billion payment for 25% of Manchester United confirmed within the next six weeks as the Premier League do their due diligence checks on the British billionaire.

INEOS have been delegated all sporting control of the Old Trafford club, however, with full approval yet to arrive, the club are asking all staff to refrain from discussing the acquisition.

They have banned all Manchester United staff from publically and/or privately discussing the deal through an all-staff email.

“Please note that there are certain legal rules that govern permissible communications during this process. Accordingly, please avoid commenting on this transaction on any social media channels,” the email read, per the Express.

“If you are approached by the media, please refrain from commenting, and refer all inquiries to Ellie Norman, Chief Communications Officer.

“In addition, if you are asked about this transaction by friends or family, you may refer to the information that is publicly available on the Manchester United website, but please do not make any speculative comments or insert your own opinions or beliefs regarding the transaction.
