Manchester United inform outcasts they are “not welcome” at pre-season training
Manchester United have reportedly informed outcasts Mason Greenwood and Jadon Sancho that they are “not welcome” as Erik ten Hag prepares his side for 2024/25.
While the Copa America and 2024 European Championships enter the crucial knockout phases, Manchester United have several players who are still fighting for glory on the continental stages.
While Alejandro Garnacho, Lisandro Martínez, and Facundo Pellistri are away in the USA, Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot, Altay Bayındır, Kobbie Mainoo, and Luke Shaw are vying for glory in Germany.

While these eight are away with their national teams, many of Erik ten Hag’s men are due to report for pre-season training next Monday. The likes of Mason Mount, Harry Maguire, Marcus Rashford, and André Onana have enjoyed a five-week holiday following their 2024 FA Cup final win in May.
Those who are taking part in international competition will return to the team after they enjoy three-week holidays, with Scott McTominay, Rasmus Højlund, and Christian Eriksen all expected to rejoin the squad before they head off to the USA.
However, many have wondered what the future holds for Mason Greenwood and Jadon Sancho, whose respective futures lie elsewhere after they were barred from joining Ten Hag’s squad.
While some have speculated that they could rejoin the team on a short-term basis before their sales, HITC have reported that the pair have been informed that they are “not welcome”, with it being made particularly clear to Greenwood that he has “no future” at United.
It is said that United are working hard to secure deals for both players before the start of pre-season training next week. Sir Jim Ratcliffe is not keen on having either player in Erik ten Hag’s camp for the start of the season.
The Greenwood and Sancho sagas have plagued Ten Hag’s turbulent time at United so far, with the Dutch manager having to deal with multiple off-field issues during his first two seasons at United.
However, with the 54-year-old now close to signing a new contract at United, his decision to outlaw Sancho and the club’s previous choice over Greenwood are expected to be honoured.
