Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo is on the verge of a move to Manchester United and some of the current players are excited about the deal.
Manchester United are pushing for a summer rebuild after a disappointing season, starting with the signing of Matheus Cunha on a five-year deal to bolster their struggling attack.
Attention then turned to Bryan Mbeumo, who is said to prefer a move to Old Trafford over offers from Newcastle and Tottenham. United tabled an initial bid of £45 million plus £5 million in add-ons, which Brentford rejected.
Despite reports of a second offer being prepared, more than two weeks have passed with no progress—raising concerns among fans, especially as new Spurs boss Thomas Frank is reportedly eyeing a move for the Cameroon international.
But the Reds are said to be carefully preparing a second offer rather than rushing into repeated bids and the latest reports suggest that negotiations with Brentford have now made significant progress.
United players react to positive Mbeumo move
With a deal for Mbeumo potentially going over the line in the coming weeks, it will be a huge boost to the squad to see both him and Cunha joining the side.
It wasn’t too long ago when Harry Maguire admitted in an interview that the current players need ‘help’ and that is exactly what the Premier League-proven duo will provide.
A report from Fichajes has explained that there are already players within the Old Trafford dressing room who are positive about the arrival of Mbeumo.
It was also added that Amorim has given the green light for a deal, with the head-coach of the belief that Mbeumo can bring balance and goalscoring power to a squad that needs both.
The balance that Mbeumo’s arrival brings
Mbeumo’s arrival does offer better balance at Old Trafford, partly because his arrival allows Amad to take that spot at right wingback.
United have played at their best under Amorim when an attacking option – usually Amad – has played at wingback. Whereas, the worst displays almost always came with two natural defenders playing in those positions.

Mbeumo’s arrival means that United will not miss out on Amad’s quality in that right-sided no.10 position, while also getting a better balance on the flanks, with players who can contribute going forward.
That felt like a huge issue for United last term and Amorim will be hoping that it can instead be something the team excel in going forward.
