Rúben Amorim to reinstate “amazing” player as Manchester United face Nottingham Forest (Premier League)

Rúben Amorim is expected to reinstate an “amazing” player as Manchester United prepare to face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Tuesday evening.

After a two-week pause for international matches, Rúben Amorim’s Manchester United are back in action on Tuesday, 1 April, as they make the trip to face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

United were building momentum before the break, recording impressive back-to-back victories over Real Sociedad, a 3-0 win against Leicester City, and a 1-1 draw with Arsenal.

Bruno Fernandes has been in sensational form, scoring five goals and assisting twice in his last three outings under Amorim.

While the clash at the City Ground presents a great opportunity to continue their good run, Amorim will also be mindful of the tough fixtures looming — including the Manchester Derby and a two-legged Europa League quarter-final against Olympique Lyonnais.

Amorim to reinstate “amazing” player vs Forest

Earlier this week, news broke that five United players had returned to first-team training following the two-week break for international fixtures.

Defenders Leny Yoro, Harry Maguire, and Luke Shaw were all spotted in training, while goalkeeping duo Tom Heaton and Altay Bayındır also took to the grass with the group at Carrington.

Noussair Mazraoui, Victor Lindelöf, and Manuel Ugarte were not spotted with the group. Later, it was explained that the United trio had been given an extra few days off from training after playing with their respective international sides on Tuesday evening.

News filtered through that there had also been positive updates on Kobbie Mainoo and Ayden Heaven. The former is now back on grass training individually, and the latter is only expected to be out for a few more weeks, despite initial fears that his injury against Leicester would keep him out for a prolonged spell.

As for who will likely be back in Amorim’s squad, Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu is expected to return to the matchday team following a three-game domestic ban. His “amazing” performance for Denmark against Portugal last week makes him a sure-fire player to start on Tuesday evening.

Meanwhile, Mason Mount is also expected to be part of the 20-player matchday squad. He may play his first minutes in over three months as Amorim looks to increase the English midfielder’s match fitness following a hamstring injury suffered in December.

Chido Obi is not expected to be part of the squad that travels to Nottingham after he was included in the U18s squad to face Aston Villa in the FA Youth Cup semi-final on Monday evening.

However, young left-back Harry Amass, who made his debut as a substitute in United’s win over Leicester, has not travelled to Birmingham, hinting that he may be being kept in Manchester to travel to face Forest with the first-team.
