Manchester United ‘could accept’ offer for Marcus Rashford this summer, claims ex-Old Trafford man
Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown believes the club may accept an offer for Marcus Rashford this summer.
Since Marcus Rashford‘s 30-goal campaign during Erik ten Hag‘s debut season, life at Manchester United has been a struggle for the winger.
He has continued to be a mainstay in the United squad, starting three of the four games under Ruud van Nistelrooy and has scored four goals so far this season, but overall, he has seemed much less impactful than his prior campaigns.

With Rúben Amorim joining United as the new head coach, many are wondering what the future holds for Rashford and if the 39-year-old boss will be able to get the best out of the 27-year-old.
Amorim’s first game in charge will come on 24 November when his new club travel to face Ipswich Town in the Premier League.
An offer for Rashford
However, former United chief scout Mick Brown, who spent over a decade at the club and remains well connected to the side, has explained that he feels United could accept a transfer for Rashford in the summer – although there is little indication surrounding where that may come from.
“He’s very much a Manchester boy, he’s got Man United running through his veins,” Brown told Football Insider. “And that’s okay up to a point, but his performances have been too up and down.
“There’s no consistency, and it’s that inconsistency which has cost him and cost United this season. I don’t know what his problem is or why he’s struggling.
“I’m told he’s got to have an arm around him, and he’s got to feel valued, but I don’t agree. Put that to Roy Keane and I know what the answer would be.
“He’s got all the talent in the world, but he never finishes a game. He’s always taken off. I’ve got great belief in Marcus’ ability, but all too often he doesn’t show it.
“When the new manager comes in, he’ll assess where he thinks he’s at, and then he’ll make a decision. It’ll be up to him to determine the level he’s playing at and try to get the best out of him, because it wasn’t working under Ten Hag.
“If it’s something that’s going to keep happening, then chances are they decide he’s got to go, because you can’t afford to carry players just because of who they are. He’s a Manchester United boy, but if Amorim can’t solve his problem, I think they’ll listen to offers.”
Rashford is a United staple
As Brown explains, Rashford is a Manchester United boy and the epitome of what the club is about.
As a childhood fan of United, Rashford has made 420 appearances and counting for the club, scoring 135 goals and providing 72 assists, placing him 12th in the club’s all-time top scorers list.
United are a better team with Rashford playing well. He has shown in the past that he can rival some of the best players in the world, but he has hit a slump. Hopefully, this is something Amorim can fix as a new era dawns at the club.
