AC Milan have seemingly issued a response to Manchester United’s offering of Marcus Rashford as they set two demands for his transfer in January.

Marcus Rashford is currently expected to leave Manchester United in 2025 after a shocking interview revealed the 27-year-old’s desire to take on a new challenge.

A key player during his peak years, Rashford lit up the 2022/23 season with 30 goals under Erik ten Hag. However, his form has since dipped, and under Rúben Amorim, he has been relegated to a supporting role, with Amad Diallo and Bruno Fernandes often preferred in attacking positions.

Having been at United for nearly two decades, Rashford’s journey began with an explosive debut at 18, scoring twice against FC Midtjylland in the Europa League and another brace against Arsenal in the Premier League just days later.

Now, with the club reportedly willing to accept bids of around £40 million, Rashford’s departure appears inevitable, marking the end of an era at Old Trafford as he prepares to start a new chapter in his career.

United offer Rashford to AC Milan

With United keen to offload Rashford this summer, there are a whole host of clubs that have been linked to the 27-year-old winger.

However, despite links with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, both teams are said to have distanced themselves from the possibility of bringing him on board amid concerns about his form.

United have, therefore, taken it upon themselves to try and seal the player a move away for him, and earlier this week, it was claimed by Spanish outlet Relevo that they had offered the player to Serie A side AC Milan.

The report further confirms that United are actively trying to offload him in the January window and would be open to negotiating terms that suited all parties rather than taking a hard stance on the conditions for a move.

Now, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan have seemingly responded to the offer as they have significed their interest in taking Rashford this month.

However, the Italian giants have set two transfer demands and are “very vigilant” about Rashford’s current situation following his exclusion from several matchday squads.

Firstly, they explained that they would only be interested in taking on Rashford on a loan deal rather than a permanent transfer.

Secondly, they have asked that United continue to pay a significant portion of Rashford’s wages, which are thought to sit at over £300,000 a week.

The prior report from Relevo explained that United would be happy to see Rashford leave on loan and pay part of his wages, but that they want an option to buy him inserted into any loan deal that’s agreed.

United and AC Milan have done business before, with Diogo Dalot heading to the Rossoneri club on a season-long loan deal for the 2020/21 campaign.
