Man United predicted XI vs Liverpool as Erik ten Hag takes unlikely risk vs Jurgen Klopp
Erik ten Hag is expected to make an unlikely risk against Liverpool as he lines up Manchester United against Jurgen Klopp’s side at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Manchester United‘s squad is starting to look like it may be on thin ice once again as injuries hamper Erik ten Hag‘s squad ahead of a Premier League meeting with Liverpool at Old Trafford this weekend.
Against Chelsea, both Raphaël Varane and Jonny Evans were forced off through injuries, meaning the central defensive pairing may be ruled out against Jurgen Klopp‘s men.

André Onana is expected to start in goal even though Altay Bayındır has returned from injury. The Cameroon goalkeeper has played in all but one of United’s fixtures this season.
In defence, assuming that Varane and Evans will join Victor Lindelöf and Lisandro Martínez on the injury tables, United will have no choice but to play Willy Kambwala and Harry Maguire on the weekend.
Diogo Dalot, who had a mixed game against Chelsea, assisting Bruno Fernandes but also giving away a penalty, will likely start at right-back, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka at left-back in order to compensate for Mohammed Salah.
In midfield, Casemiro is another who may be unable to play. Ten Hag revealed after the Chelsea loss that he “had” to take the Brazilian off, and he may be unable to play.
Although many may assume that Scott McTominay would then assume the role in midfield, Mason Mount may be given his chance back in the XI. Two good cameos against Brentford and Chelsea showed that he is very good at keeping possession and helping the squad maintain attacks.
Should Ten Hag take this risk and start Mount, Kobbie Mainoo would then assume the deeper role, with Bruno Fernandes the furthest forward as usual.
One player who can hold their head high after the Chelsea loss is Antony, who was fantastic on the right-wing at Stamford Bridge. He will almost certainly retain his place, with Alejandro Garnacho, who scored twice, remaining on the left wing.
Rasmus Højlund is still the club’s only recognised striker, and will almost certainly start up front.
Man United predicted XI
Onana, Dalot, Kambwala, Maguire, Wan-Bissaka, Mainoo, Mount, Fernandes, Antony, Højlund, Garnacho.
