Manchester United ‘expect’ Leny Yoro to be ‘out until January’, causing third Jarrad Branthwaite bid
Manchester United reportedly expect Leny Yoro to be unavailable until January as they look to launch a third bid for Jarrad Branthwaite.
Manchester United started the 2024 transfer window with a bang, signing Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna and outmanoeuvring Real Madrid to secure Leny Yoro from Lille.
However, during his second fixture for the club during pre-season, Yoro suffered an unfortunate injury against Arsenal and Erik ten Hag had to withdraw during the first half of the Los Angeles fixture last month.

Yoro was then spotted with a protective boot on in the days following the tie, and United then confirmed that they expected him to be out for around three months after fracturing his metatarsal.
Once the squad landed back in the UK, Yoro underwent successful foot surgery. The club further confirmed that his rehabilitation would take around three months.
However, in a new twist, The Sun have reported that the club now “don’t expect the player to be available again until January”, meaning that although he may finish his rehabilitation at the end of October, he may not be fit to play for a further few months.
The report then goes on to claim that, due to this, United are now set to launch a third bid for Jarrad Branthwaite this summer to plug the gap left by Yoro’s absence.
Having already launched two bids totalling £43 million and £50 million, including add-ons so far this summer, it’s said that a bid in the region of a guaranteed £50 million could tempt the Toffies into negotiations.
Everton have previously demanded as much as £70 million for Brnathiate, but considering their financial position, they may be forced to lower these demands.
United have also been closely linked with Bayern Munich centre-back Matthijs de Ligt this summer and have agreed personal terms with both players.
