Yoro, Højlund, Lindelöf: Manchester United early injury news vs Real Betis
Manchester United have three injury updates as the club take on Real Betis in Erik ten Hag’s fourth pre-season fixture of the summer.
Manchester United have completed three pre-season fixtures in the summer of 2024 so far. They suffered a 1-0 defeat to Rosenborg but bounced back with a 2-0 victory over Rangers in Scotland, with goals from Amad Diallo and Joe Hugill. New signing Leny Yoro made his unofficial debut following his £52 million transfer from Lille.
United then faced Arsenal in the first of their three USA fixtures. Despite losing 2-1, they triumphed in the pre-organised penalty shootout, winning 4-3.

Next, United will play Real Betis at 03:00 BST on Tuesday, 1 August, at the Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego. The pre-season tour will conclude with a final match in Columbia, South Carolina, at 00:45 BST on Sunday, 4 August.
Although the Arsenal game provided more vital minutes to many key players, such as Amad and Mason Mount, the fixture also came with two grave injury concerns. Both goalscorer Rasmus Højlund and centre-back Yoro had to leave the pitch during the first half.
According to the latest reports, Ten Hag left the SoFi Stadium fearing that the 18-year-old would be out for a “considerable period” due to the muscle injury sustained during the game.
It was further explained that while Højlund may be ruled out of Wednesday’s clash against Betis, his issue does not seem to be as serious as the one Yoro sustained.
The club are not expected to scan the injuries to see the full picture until Monday. The usual protocol is to wait a day for the swelling to subside so that an accurate assessment can be made.
Meanwhile, the club confirmed that Victor Lindelöf has returned to full first-team training after missing both the Rangers and Arsenal fixtures.
“Victor Lindelof resumed full training at UCLA on Sunday, after missing the opening games of Manchester United’s pre-season,” a club statement read.
Beyond this, the rest of the 29-man squad that Ten Hag brought to the USA are fit to play, including Harry Magire, who returned to the side against Arsenal for the first time in three months.
Following their international exploits, Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho, Bruno Fernandes, and Diogo Dalot remain on holiday and will report to Carrington. Mainoo was spotted in LA this week but will not join the team.
