Rúben Amorim is set for a double Manchester United injury return against Ipswich Town as the latest on Leny Yoro is provided.

Rúben Amorim is gearing up to take charge of his first match as Manchester United‘s new head coach as his side travel to face Ipswich Town away from home.

The Premier League encounter is set to take place on Sunday afternoon, which gives United players the maximum amount of rest time after 13 players took part in international competitions while a further few recovered from injuries.

United currently sit 13th in the Premier League table, but after Ruud van Nistelrooy helped steady the ship after a turbulent time under Erik ten Hag, there are reasons for players and fans to be positive.

Despite their position in the table, the club sit just four points behind Nottingham Forest in 14th, currently occupying the Champions League qualification spots that United are aiming for.

Kobbie Mainoo boost

Amorim conducted his first training session as the club’s new head coach on Monday morning, and the Manchester Evening News reported that Kobbie Mainoo also took part.

The 19-year-old has been out of action since the middle of October after suffering from a hamstring problem against Aston Villa and missed out on Van Nistelrooy’s temporary stint as the club’s manager.

However, with Amorim set to install a new style of tactics and formation across his opening few weeks at the club, having Mainoo back in training is a massive boost for the 39-year-old.

There has been a lot of debate surrounding whether Mainoo will play a more advanced role at the club with Amorim at the helm, and the new coach now has the time to figure this puzzle out.

Leny Yoro injury latest

Secondly, it looks as if Manchester United fans will finally be able to see Leny Yoro make his official debut for the club.

Yoro has been out of action for around three months after he suffered a fractured metatarsal during a pre-season friendly against Arsenal, and the £52 million signing has been recovering ever since.

However, the Frenchman returned to first-team training two weeks ago, and The Standard has claimed that, should no complications arise, he may be included in the squad to face Ipswich.

Although it’s unlikely he will start, with Amorim only having four centre-backs available due to Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelöf being unavailable, Yoro may come off the bench if he’s selected.
