Early Manchester United team news – Erik ten Hag has FIFTEEN injury problems
Erik ten Hag has fifteen injury problems as Manchester United prepare themselves to face Sheffield United in the Premier League at Old Trafford.
Manchester United have not been covered in glory over the last six weeks. They have conceded multiple late goals in both the Premier League and FA Cup, dropping multiple points in the process.
They almost knocked themselves out of the FA Cup during the recent semi-final stage. They gave up a 3-0 lead against Coventry City and only won on penalties thanks to a tight offside call made by VAR.

Erik ten Hag has had a lot to say surrounding the game, but in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Sheffield tie he also confirmed that there were four new injury doubts for the club.
“So we had a problem with [Alejandro] Garnacho,” he told reporters on Tuesday morning. “That’s why we took him off during the game, but I think he will be fine.
“Scott McTominay, we have to assess today. That is really doubtful. Marcus Rashford is also doubtful, and then there was an issue with Bruno Fernandes with the hand. But I think he can make it. So we have some doubts going into the game tomorrow.”
Beyond these four, there are eleven others who could all be out for the upcoming fixture.
United’s biggest worries are in defence, with six centre-backs confirmed as out – and beyond this, Harry Maguire admitted he played against Coventry with an injury. He managed to complete the entire 120 minutes.
Lisandro Martínez, Raphaël Varane, Jonny Evans, Raphaël Varane, and Willy Kambwala all missed the FA Cup semi-final through injury and are likely to also miss the Old Trafford tie. Luke Shaw may return before the end of the season, but Tyrell Malaci will not
In attack, Anthony Martial is the only absentee. Mason Mount and Sofyan Amrabat were both absent from the semi-final during the weekend, and there has been no update on their status since – but neither was spotted in the latest set of official training photos.
