Early Manchester United team news as Erik ten Hag sees one return to training ahead of a Premier League clash against Arsenal.

Manchester United will be looking to return to winning ways as they welcome Arsenal to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Last time out, Erik ten Hag‘s men suffered a horrid 4-0 loss against Crystal Palace, but Arsenal is capable of inflicting more damage as they approach the end of their title race.

The North London club currently sit one point clear at the top of the league table, but Manchester City, in second, have a game in hand – meaning Arsenal cannot afford to drop any points for the two remaining games of the season.

United only had one fit centre-back for the tie at Selhurst Park and suffered as a result. Jonny Evans, who is only just returning from injury, partnered Casemiro in defence.

No centre-back returns are expected, although there is an outside chance that Lisandro Martínez could make the squad after he returned to training last week.

While Victor Lindelöf, Raphaël Varane, Harry Maguire, and Willy Kambwala remain out, Ten Hag confirmed last week that Scott McTominay was due back in training during the weekend, and so should be fit to somewhat face Arsenal as long as no other delays occur.

There has been no news since Bruno Fernandes missed his first game through injury last week. Erik ten Hag is expected to give an update on Friday afternoon during his pre-match press conference.

Marcus Rashford has been absent since United’s FA Cup semi-final penalty victory over Coventry City last month, but Anthony Martial has returned to training and may be fit to play.

Arsenal may welcome back Jurrien Timber to the matchday squad after the player was ruled out with an ACL injury in August. He has been gaining minutes with the U21s in recent weeks
