Manchester United’s transfer plan regarding a 16-year-old wonderkid has been outlined, amid concern regarding a ‘six-club race’ for the England youth star.
Manchester United’s start to the season has taken a turn for the better of late, with the Reds now unbeaten in their last four. This is as a result of a 2-2 draw at Nottingham Forest over the weekend, where Casemiro and Amad both notched important goals.
Ruben Amorim’s side have picked up ten points across these four Premier League games, which has seen them rapidly climb the table ahead of a tough task away at Tottenham Hotspur.
With the Red Devils looking to get back to their ways of old, they will also be looking to improve their crop of upcoming talents, which has always been an important pillar at the club.
There are a multitude of teenage talents rising through the ranks at Carrington at the moment, but United are eager to add to this through the addition of a 16-year-old wonderkid.
United’s plan for Monga
As revealed by Football Insider, Manchester United have joined the race for Leicester City’s top talent Jeremy Monga, who is widely regarded as one of England’s most promising players.
Monga broke through into the first team last season when the East Midlands side were in the top flight, and since their relegation, he has been a prominent part of the side.
Transfer insider Pete O’Rourke said, “Yeah, I think it’ll be more than just Manchester United keeping tabs on Jeremy Monga.
“There still is the doubt at Leicester that he could leave because he hasn’t signed a professional contract yet, and he can’t do that until he turns 17.
“If he doesn’t sign a pro deal, he can be lured away for a nominal compensation fee as well. It won’t just be Man United looking at him. City still remain interested in him as well.”
United joined in Monga race
O’Rourke continued by saying, “I’m sure you’ll have probably all the Premier League’s big six who would be interested in signing the England Youth International as well.
“So Leicester are hoping they can persuade him to stay by offering him, obviously, a quicker pathway to first-team football.

“He’s become a regular under Marti Cifuentes this season in the Foxes team as well. So they’ll be hoping that they can end this speculation by tying him down to a professional deal.”
Monga will clearly have plenty of suitors chasing his signature over the course of the season, but it would be an exciting move for the Red Devils if they were able to add the English talent to their budding crop of youth stars.
