Playing at Man United is “easier” than West Ham, they should sign Harry Maguire
Glen Johnson has claimed that West Ham should try and sign Harry Maguire this summer, even though playing at Manchester United is easier for a centre-back.
Harry Maguire‘s future at Manchester United remains uncertain following his relegation from captaincy at the Old Trafford by Erik ten Hag last summer.
Most recently, Maguire had to withdraw from the England squad after an injury he picked up against Brazil last weekend. With his spot at United likely to be taken from next summer onwards, the club may choose to move the England international on this summer to raise capital.

Maguire was heavily linked with a move to West Ham last summer, but the talks ultimately fell through due to personal terms after United and the Hammers agreed a fee of around £30 million.
However, former Premier League defender Glen Johnson feels that although West Ham is a harder place to play centre-back than United, the London-based club should try to secure Maguire’s signature.
“I think Harry would be a solid player for West Ham, but he’d still have a lot to prove because it’s a lot easier to play at centre-half for Manchester United than it is for West Ham because he plays for a team that’s expected to keep more possession,” Johnson told BetFred.
“If West Ham can do the deal at a sensible price, then I believe it’s one that they should do. Harry’s performances for Manchester United have admittedly improved in recent times, but they’ve not been overall convincing.”
Maguire has a current market value of around £16 million, although United will likely want to try and reach the same agreement with West Ham that they did last summer, should they choose to sell.
