One Manchester United star has been praised for a “special” moment against Fenerbahce that blew a former England international away.

Manchester United fell to their third Europa League draw of the campaign after they were held to a 1-1 draw against Fenerbahce.

In the first half, Christian Eriksen scored a brilliant goal from the edge of the area, the Danish midfielder’s fourth goal of the season, sending Erik ten Hag‘s men into half-time with a one-goal lead.

However, Fenerbache equalised quickly in the second half, with Youssef En-Nesyri overpowering Victor Lindelöf to nod home from close range after a fantastic across from Allan Saint-Maximin.

Despite both managers making multiple changes, neither side could find their finishing touch, with the points being shared during a heated affair in Istanbul.

A special moment

While much of the focus is on the final score, at half-time, former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson chose to focus on a spectacular double save from André Onana that held United’s 1-0 lead at half-time.

With 30 minutes on the clock, Onana leapt down to his right-hand side to deny En-Nesyri, and just seconds later, he was back on his feet to top En-Nesyri’s second effort over the bar.

Leaving Mourinho shocked just after the save, Robinson was also in awe, explaining that Onana’s ability to make such a double save is “something special.”

“The double save from Andre Onana was incredible,” Robinson said on BBC Radio 5 Live.

“It’s what goalkeepers do in training – they are up and down. We regularly do it in training, but that’s part of their fitness. It is very rare that we put those saves together.

“Having the quality for two saves like that is something special.”

Another draw simply isn’t good enough

United have now drawn all three of their opening Europa League matches, leaving them trailing behind the rest in the group standings.

With five games remaining, it’s fair to say that their toughest fixtures are behind them, but the pressure is on to ensure those upcoming matches result in victories.

The team will need to be near-perfect in the matches ahead to regain a solid position in both the Premier League and Europa League.
