Man Utd fans all agree about Leny Yoro’s best attribute vs Spurs and statistics back it up
Manchester United fans were delighted by the performance of Leny Yoro despite their defeat against Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup.
Manchester United were eliminated from the Carabao Cup on Thursday evening after a 4-3 loss to Tottenham Hotspur.
Despite the defeat, it felt like an unjust result for Ruben Amorim’s side, who dominated much of the game, though costly errors ultimately proved decisive.
Joshua Zirkzee, Amad Diallo and Jonny Evans each found the net, and there were plenty of positives to take from an otherwise disappointing outcome.
Man Utd fans loved Yoro’s display vs Spurs
One of those positives was the performance of Leny Yoro, who played 90 minutes as the right centre-back in Amorim’s team.
Yoro’s defensive abilities were on show, with the defender dominating his duels and showcasing his speed in defensive transitions to sniff out Spurs chances.
However, it was his ability with the ball at his feet which seemed to impress United fans the most, with the defender being ‘composed’ in possession and offering some progressive passes.
“This guy is a monster. Plays like he’s been in the game for century… Composed on ball… Glad he is ours,” one fan wrote on X.
Another supporter detailed: “Quick decisive forward passes without hanging on it.”
“He is the real deal, unfazed by the pressure, composed play, forward thinking with passes,” a third concluded.
Leny Yoro’s impressive stats vs Spurs
The statistics also back up the idea that Yoro was impressive on the ball. The defender boasted a 92 per cent pass accuracy with 68 completed passes, the most of any player in the game.
He also completed three long passes and nine passes into the final third of the pitch.

However, the 19-year-old’s stats also showed his dominance at the back, winning five of his six ground duels, making three interceptions and four clearances.
There is a lot of work still to do for the teenager but this was a great step in the right direction in his first full game for the club.
