Manchester United confirm Erik ten Hag XI vs Liverpool as Matthijs de Ligt starts
Erik ten Hag has chosen to start Matthijs de Ligt as Manchester United face Liverpool on Sunday afternoon ahead of the international break.
Manchester United are gearing up to face Liverpool at Old Trafford in their third Premier League fixture of the 2024/25 season.
Erik ten Hag’s side has had a mixed start to the campaign, securing a 1-0 win over Fulham but falling 2-1 to Brighton in the dying moments. Despite these results, United have demonstrated improved organisation compared to last season.

Liverpool, under new manager Arne Slot, have begun the season with back-to-back 2-0 wins against Ipswich Town and Brentford. Slot will be looking to build on this solid start and make a significant impact at Old Trafford.
For the tie, Erik ten Hag has made three changes, replacing Harry Maguire, Mason Mount, and Amad Diallo in the team with De Ligt, Joshua Zirkzee, and Alejandro Garnacho.
