Man Utd confirm Rúben Amorim starting XI vs Lyon as Harry Maguire decision made (Europa League)

Manchester United have confirmed that Rúben Amorim has chosen to select Harry Maguire as they welcome Lyon to Old Trafford in the Europa League.

After a tough 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United on Sunday, Rúben Amorim has quickly refocused as Manchester United gear up for a decisive night in the Europa League.

United will host Olympique Lyonnais at Old Trafford on Thursday evening in the second leg of their quarter-final, with the tie delicately poised at 2-2 following an eventful first leg in France.

Thiago Almada gave Lyon an early lead, but United hit back with goals from Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee to seize control. Just as Amorim’s side looked set to head home with an advantage, Rayan Cherki struck in stoppage time to level the score.

Now, with home support behind them, United will be hoping to finish the job and secure a place in the semi-finals, where either Athletic Bilbao or Rangers await.

That clash also remains finely balanced after a 0-0 draw in Glasgow, where Rangers were forced to play the majority of the game with ten men after Robin Pröpper was sent off just 13 minutes in.

The XIs have been confirmed below, with Amorim starting Harry Maguire as part of the back three after resting him against Newcastle.
