Manchester United to make big Chido Obi-Martin announcement amid European squad decision
Manchester United are set to make a big announcement surrounding Chido Obi-Martin ahead of a big European clash for the Danish striker.
Manchester United secured the signing of Chido Obi-Martin from Arsenal earlier this year, following a lengthy Premier League ratification process over the summer.
Obi-Martin made his debut in mid-October, coming off the bench against Sunderland U18s. Shortly after, he earned his first start in a home fixture against Nottingham Forest.

The young forward wasted no time making his mark, netting a hat-trick in just 14 minutes. His stunning performance immediately captured the attention of United supporters, and he was substituted at half time, having already delivered a match-winning display.
Since then, Obi-Martin has featured in several games for United’s youth teams and has scored four goals in his first four appearances in the U18s Premier League.
Obi-Martin announcement
According to the Danish outlet Tipsbladet, United are now set to announce on Friday afternoon that Obi-Martin has signed his first professional contract with the club.
Obi-Martin is still 16, and English rules state that a player cannot sign a professional contract at any club until they turn 17 – and as the young Danish forward’s birthday arrives this Friday, he will sign his terms.
Obi-Martin has been at United on a scholarship contract due to his age, and the striker, who is described by Tipsbladet as one of Denmark’s “greatest football talents,” will secure a professional contract in the coming days.
The Dane scored 32 goals in 18 youth matches for Arsenal last season and is set to continue his brilliant scoring streak for club and country in the coming months. It has not been ruled out that he may debut for the first team later this campaign.
A big European tie
Chido Obi-Martin was included in United’s U19s squad AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Youth League this week.
United’s side travelled to Amsterdam and lost 2-1, with Obi-Martin being an unused substitute during the clash.
It was the first leg of their third-round qualifier, with the return match set for 10 December at Old Trafford and the young striker will hope to play a part in the game.
