One manager has shut down a Manchester United transfer rumour for a Premier League star Rúben Amorim is reportedly tracking the performances of.

Manchester United are targeting new attacking options as Rúben Amorim’s side continue to struggle with a lack of goals.

United have found it difficult to break teams down this season, often failing to score more than once in games. Their home performances at Old Trafford have been particularly underwhelming, intensifying calls for reinforcements.

The futures of players like Joshua ZirkzeeMarcus Rashford, and Alejandro Garnacho remain uncertain, adding further urgency to United’s need for attacking upgrades ahead of the summer transfer window.

Despite financial limitations, Amorim is expected to push the club’s hierarchy to prioritise fresh signings to strengthen his forward line and resolve their ongoing issues in front of goal.

Frank shuts down Mbeumo to United January rumour

A report from RMC Sport earlier this week claimed that United are among three clubs who are tracking Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo, with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur also fans of the 25-year-old.

It was claimed by the French outlet that either of these clubs may launch an audacious attempt for the player in the coming weeks as they look to secure him in January instead of the summer.

However, Brentford boss Thomas Frank has completely shut down the idea of the Bees’ star player leaving this month, telling talkSPORT: “No. So, very easy to answer that question!”

There have been conflicting reports surrounding how much Mbeumo could cost suitors this summer, with most reports putting the fee at around £45-55 million.

Amorim has been tracking Mbeumo’s displays

This comes after reports of late have claimed Amorim himself is a big admirer of the player and has been tracking his performances.

It has been claimed that the 39-year-old feels Mbeumo can fit into the long-term plans at United and is said to value his versatility across a front line, where Mbeumo would be able to play in either attacking midfield role or as a striker in his 3-4-3 formation.

Rúben Amorim is reportedly impressed by the player’s strong work ethic. Competing in the Premier League for a non-big-six club demands a sharp focus on both attacking and defensive responsibilities.

Currently earning approximately £45,000 per week at Brentford, the player has delivered an impressive 13 goals and four assists in 25 appearances across the Premier League and Carabao Cup this season.
