Manchester United make decision that fans will love following fantastic performance
Bruno Fernandes has been sent home by the Portugal national team after his brilliant performance against Sweden, but he will not return to Manchester United yet.
Bruno Fernandes, in his first season as official Manchester United captain, has played almost every single fixture for club and country over the last eight months.
He has been a consistent force for Erik ten Hag, scoring eight goals and providing nine assists in 38 appearances across all competitions, and will no doubt be pivotal for Portugal during the upcoming EURO 2024 tournament.

Fernandes showed off his talents once again as Portugal defeated Sweden 5-2 on Thursday night, with the player still fully fit despite a few doubts after the recent win over Liverpool.
Speaking on Thursday, Portugal manager Roberto Martínez revealed that Fernadnes is one of eight players who will not feature in their upcoming friendly match against and in Slovenia on Tuesday.
“It’s important to work on different concepts, especially because Slovenia has a very similar structure (to Sweden), also with two strikers, so the players who leave are all taken care of. They are: Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias, Joao Palhinha, Nelson Semedo, Toti Gomes, Rafael Leao, Bruno Fernandes and Goncalo Ramos,” Martinez said.

“There are another eight players who will arrive at a high level for the second game, with hunger and a lot of energy, I hope.”
The Athletic have now revealed that although Fernandes has departed the Portugal squad, he will not return to Manchester United training until the end of the international break. The club have decided to give him the entire international break off from training to rest and recover.
This is a decision that United fans will love, as Fernandes has not had much opportunity to rest and recuperate. He has not missed a single United game through injury since he made his debut for the club in February 2020.
