Manchester United have three players who are returning to full fitness as they travel to face Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

After 2024 brought an early promise of injury returns, Manchester United were hit with multiple injury issues during the last six weeks, but following the end of the international break, Erik ten Hag now has an increasing number of players back to full fitness.

During United’s last game, a 4-3 FA Cup win over Liverpool, Rasmus Højlund, Mason Mount, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka played their first minutes back from medium- to long-term injuries. They have been able to work on their fitness throughout the international break and will return on Saturday as fully fit players.

Beyond this, Anthony Martial is due to return to the team within the next week after undergoing groin surgery at the end of January.

Lisandro Martínez and Harry Maguire both face late fitness tests ahead of Saturday evening’s game against Brentford to determine if they will be available, while Casemiro is expected to be fit to play.

Omari Forson, Altay Bayındır, and Jonny Evans were all ruled out of United’s win over Liverpool and did not feature during the international break. There have been no updates on the players since.

Tyrell Malacia is not expected to make his return this season following multiple knee operations, but the latest news suggests that he is continuing to work on his rehabilitation at Carrington.

Luke Shaw will remain sidelined until the end of the campaign, although Gareth Southgate said he may be fit to play the final few fixtures of the season ahead of EURO 2024 in Germany.

Brentford will be without former Manchester United loanee Sergio Reguilon due to suspension. Moreover, key defenders Rico Henry and Ben Mee have been sidelined for the remainder of the campaign, along with midfielder Josh Dasilva. Aaron Hickey and Kevin Schade are also enduring long-term absences.

However, manager Frank remains hopeful for positive updates regarding captain Christian Norgaard and Ethan Pinnock when he addresses the media later this week

Additionally, Bryan Mbeumo is vying for his first start since December, following his return from a four-month injury lay-off, having made a substitute appearance against Burnley two weeks ago.
