Expected Manchester United squad vs Brentford as Mount and Amass decisions made
Manchester United are expected to see Mason Mount return to the squad as Erik ten Hag prepares his side to face Brentford at Old Trafford.
Manchester United will return to Premier League action after the international break, with Erik ten Hag evaluating his squad ahead of a crucial fixture against Brentford.
The opening two months of the 2024/25 season have been challenging, with United sitting 14th in the Premier League and drawing both of their Europa League games so far.

This disappointing form has put Ten Hag under increased scrutiny, and many fans anticipated an announcement from the club last week confirming his dismissal.
However, a draw against Aston Villa appears to have softened the leadership’s stance, buying Ten Hag more time. Over the next four days, he will assess his squad before making his final selection for the Brentford match.
United have multiple injury concerns that will have to be assessed. Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo, and Alejandro Garnacho all withdrew from their national teams due to minor injury concerns, while Harry Maguire is ruled out through an injury. However, with the former three, there is no indication that their injury issues are serious.
Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are expected to remain out of action for at least another few weeks, while Leny Yoro will be out until December.
Some have tipped Harry Amass to make an appearance as the Academy star is a natural left-back, but previous reports have stated the club feel it is too early for the 17-year-old to be thrown into first-team football.
However, Mason Mount has been tipped for a return to action and should return to training in the next few days, and, barring any further complications, will hopefully be part of the squad to face Brentford.
Manuel Ugarte is unlikely to be joining his teammates again this weekend. He came off with a leg injury in Uruguay’s 0-0 draw with Ecuador on Thursday evening, and as he flies back to Manchester on Thursday, he will likely not be risked on Saturday afternoon.
Diogo Dalot is the club’s only fit full-back after Noussair Mazraoui, Shaw, and Malacia are sidelined, which raises the question of who will play at right-back at Old Trafford.
