One of Manchester United’s transfer targets was spotted at Old Trafford during the Europa League win against Rangers amid an update from Fabrizio Romano.

Rúben Amorim is keen to strengthen Manchester United’s first team, but the club are equally focused on bolstering their Academy with promising young talent to secure a brighter future.

During the summer 2024 transfer window, United sealed the signings of Chido Obi-Martin and Sekou Kone, two highly regarded prospects within Academy football.

At a time when financial discipline is crucial to maintaining the club’s profitability and sustainability, targeting young players for development is a wise approach. The aim is to nurture these talents within the Academy, preparing them to make a lasting impact in the first team in the years ahead.

There is real optimism that these young players will gradually establish themselves under Amorim’s guidance, becoming pivotal members of the squad in seasons to come.

United target Heaven spotted at Old Trafford

On Thursday evening, news broke that United were the front runners to sign Arsenal centre-back Ayden Heaven amid interest from Barcelona and Eintracht Frankfurt.

It was said that although Arsenal have also offered the 18-year-old a new contract, United are the favourites to get a deal over the line over any other club.

New information has now come to light from reliable United Academy reporter AcademyScoop in that Heaven himself was in attendance as a late winner from Bruno Fernandes saw United defeat Rangers 2-1 at Old Trafford on Thursday evening.

It’s further said that Heaven is expected to decide his future soon, with United hoping he will choose a new path at Old Trafford.

The latest from Fabrizio Romano on Heaven to United

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano recently broke the news surrounding United’s pursuit of Heaven, and following the win over Rangers, he released a new update.

The Italian journalist explained that United are “confident” that they will be able to secure his future at the club despite interest from others, confirming that he was at Old Trafford.

Heaven is a left-footed centre-back, and standing at 6 feet and two inches, he would add much-needed height at United’s back line.

Amorim is missing a left-footed centre-back option in his squad, with Lisandro Martínez being the only current one in his team, and although Heaven would initially join in the Academy system, the idea would be that he will eventually progress to training and playing within the first team.
