Manchester United ‘receive offer’ and set demands for Alejandro Garnacho transfer
Manchester United have received their first offer for Alejandro Garnacho, but they are demanding more money than Napoli have offered for the winger.
Manchester United are within the 2025 January transfer window during a difficult period, having endured four consecutive defeats in the Premier League and Carabao Cup before the new year.
A hard-fought 2-2 draw with league leaders Liverpool and FA Cup penalty shootout win over Arsenal, however, has provided a much-needed boost in early 2025, easing some of the pressure on the squad.
Rúben Amorim is tasked with addressing the team’s key weaknesses, including the need for a left-back, a centre-back, a striker, and multiple midfielders. However, financial restrictions following heavy spending under Erik ten Hag have made significant reinforcements challenging.
To navigate these constraints, United are prioritising player sales in January and the summer to free up funds and lay the groundwork for a much-needed rebuild.
Napoli send in first transfer offer for Garnacho
According to the Italian transfer specialist Alfredo Pedulla, United have now received their first official transfer bid for young winger Alejandro Garnacho.
It is stated that manager Antonio Conte sees Garnacho as the perfect replacement for departing forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is set to sign for Paris St. Germain in the coming months.
Napoli are said to have offered United a transfer fee of around £38 million including add-ons, although this is likely to be rejected as United want more than £60 million for their Academy talent.
It is also mentioned that Juventus have registered interest in the forward too, and have enquired about his availability in the summer window.
Further, Attilio Malena explains that Garnacho’s representatives have already held three meetings with the Serie A giants.
What Amorim said about Garnacho after the win vs Arsenal
Speaking to the press, Amorim explained he was very impressed with “quality” Garnacho during the Arsenal game, but further pointed out that he feels the winger must become more complete.
“Part of the idea then, like I said, with the ball we had some difficulties,” Amorim said when initially asked if he is seeing his idea for United come to life.

“I think players like Garnacho, who want to play open, playing inside, they need to suffer. I can put them open, but then I will have to change the idea, and then it will take more time. I think it is also good for a player with the quality.
“For example, like Garnacho and Amad, if they are able to play inside and outside, they will be so much more complete,” he explained.
“So, I think the idea still needs a lot of time, but in that part of the spirit to suffer, to understanding the game, to make some pauses. No, on the game, I think we are improving.”
