Man United have three Michael Olise alternatives for Erik ten Hag as £50m decision confirmed
Manchester United will need to consider other right-wing transfer targets after Michael Olise opted to move to Bayern Munich this summer.
The Reds were interested in the Crystal Palace winger, but David Ornstein revealed that he will be joining Bayern Munich, in what has been reported to be a £50 million deal.
While United’s priority signings remain centre-back and striker, a right-winger will likely be needed due to the probable departures of Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood.
Fresh options could also emerge from within Erik ten Hag’s squad, with INEOS hoping the manager will maximise the potential of the underperforming talent from last term.
UtdDistrict have assessed three of the main alternatives for Olise and how United can help solve the problem on their right flank.
Nico Williams
Nico Williams is certainly an attacking option that United are considering. UtdDistrict previously revealed that club scouts considered the 21-year-old an ideal option after being on the club’s radar for an extended period.
The Spaniard has looked exciting at Euro 2024 so far and had a show-stopping campaign last term, scoring eight goals and assisting 19 times as he helped Athletic Bilbao win the Copa Del Rey.
While he has mainly operated from the left flank, Williams has proven his ability from both sides of the pitch.
It has been reported that the young winger has a release clause in his contract worth around £55 million.
Amad Diallo
Another option for United is to put their trust in 21-year-old Amad Diallo to become a key figure in the team next season. He started the final three games of the prior Premier League season.
Amad was signed in the 2020/21 season but has rarely got his chances at Old Trafford despite his immense talent.
Recent reports have claimed that United now see the Ivorian as an important long-term member of the squad and that trust could be reflected in a prominent role in the team.
Amad is clearly ready to compete at the highest level, and he brings an excellent blend of smart and direct play.
Pedro Neto
The final alternative comes in the form of one of the most exciting Premier League wingers. Pedro Neto has excelled at Wolves since his move in 2019.
Despite concerns surrounding his injury record, Neto could be an excellent option for United, who have held interest in him beforehand.
The Portuguese playmaker is also very adaptable and can play on either wing, as well as in attacking midfield or striker.
