Man United starlet told transfer exit could be best move for him – “There’s an open door…”
One Manchester United starlet has been told that an Old Trafford exit could be the best move for him in this summer transfer window.
There have been many changes at United in recent months both on and off the pitch but INEOS will be hoping to sell more players within Erik ten Hag’s squad.
Hannibal Mejbri is one player whose future is uncertain after a disappointing loan spell with Sevilla at the back end of last season.
The midfielder was once one of the most highly-rated players in the club’s academy but has been unable to push for a first-team spot at Old Trafford.
Links to a potential move to Scotland have arisen in recent weeks and Hannibal admitted that he wants to play regular football.
Andy Cole believes that there is an ‘open door’ for the youngster to leave the club and suggests that a move elsewhere could be the best decision for the 21-year-old.
“He’s a kid that’s had a taste of first–team football that naturally wants to play more and more,” Cole told BetFred.
“At Sevilla, there was an option in his deal that would have allowed him to join them permanently, so it looks as if there’s an open door allowing him to move on.
“If he has the opportunity to move to either Celtic or Rangers, then why not? It’s that simple.
“He’s going to find it difficult to get into the Manchester United team, so it will be interesting to see if the club decides to move him on and either loan him out or try and get a decent transfer fee for him and then use that money to try and do some business elsewhere. It would be an interesting one.”
