Man United star could be ruled out of Brentford clash with SIX fitness concerns for Erik ten Hag
One Manchester United star could be ruled out of the Premier League clash against Brentford this weekend in another concern for under-pressure Erik ten Hag.
Manchester United return to action this weekend against Brentford and the team are in desperate need of positive results and performances.
The start to the season has been far from ideal, with three wins in their first 10 games while the team sit 14th in the Premier League table.
The latest concern for Erik ten Hag comes after Manuel Ugarte’s latest exploits on the international stage.
Ugarte started his country’s 0-0 draw against Ecuador on Tuesday evening but was withdrawn on 82 minutes with what looked to be an injury.
The new United midfielder was joined by a member of Uruguay’s medical team as he exited the pitch and that brings concern over his availability this weekend.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Ugarte is expected to fly back to Manchester on Wednesday before returning to Carrington on Thursday.
He was left out of the lineup against Southampton following the last international break as he was the last player to return to training after a long journey back from South America.
Now, with a possible injury concern alongside those long travelling hours, it seems extremely unlikely that Ugarte will make his second Premier League start this weekend.
Ten Hag’s injury concerns run deeper than the Uruguayan international, with question marks over the availability of players like Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho.
Harry Maguire also looks likely to be ruled out of the clash after suffering an issue against Aston Villa.
Meanwhile, Rasmus Højlund’s fitness will also be focused on after he missed training with Denmark during the international break.
The Reds face up against The Bees at 15:00 BST on Saturday afternoon, with the full coverage details available here.
