Man United star shows Erik ten Hag new position during international break – 97% pass accuracy, 4 chances created
One Manchester United star has shown Erik ten Hag a new potential position he can play during the international break.
The Reds have had a difficult start to the new Premier League campaign, winning just one out of their opening three games.
Erik ten Hag’s side must improve once the league returns, with an away trip to Southampton once the international break finishes.
One player who has impressed during the season so far is Amad Diallo. He scored against Brighton and had positive displays against Fulham and Liverpool.
He has solely operated from the right wing and earned a call-up to the Ivory Coast national team for fixtures this week.
The 22-year-old had a positive display this week and showed Ten Hag another potential position that he can operate in.
Ivory Coast played against Zambia in the early hours of Saturday morning and won the game 2-0.
Amad started the clash and interestingly lined up in the midfield alongside Jean Michael Seri and Franck Kessié.
The young United star completed 33 of his 34 attempted passes, boasting a 97 per cent pass accuracy. He also created four chances for his teammates until he was replaced on 70 minutes.
In a similar way to someone like Bernardo Silva, Amad’s excellence on the ball and hard workrate could allow him to play centrally despite his slight frame.
However, that often only works in a dominant playstyle, but it could be something that Ten Hag considers, especially if Alejandro Garnacho continues to play on the right flank.
