Man United to reward fan-favourite with new contract and role after Erik ten Hag meeting

Manchester United are set to reward a fan-favourite player with a new contract and role in the coming months.

The Reds started their pre-season earlier this month, preparing for the new Premier League season under Erik ten Hag.

After two friendly games, United will travel to America to play against Arsenal, Liverpool, and Real Betis. Many players will be looking to impress Ten Hag and his staff.

Amad Diallo has already seemed to have done that in the short time he played against Rangers. The Ivorian winger was the best player during the first half and scored an excellent goal.

Fabrizio Romano has explained that a new contract for Amad at United will be a topic for the club in the coming months and that he will be an important player next term.

Speaking on his Here We Go podcast, the journalist said: “Yes, Amad Diallo did fantastic in the friendly game against the Rangers, but in general, the second part of the season last year was excellent.

“Let me say that Erik ten Hag is the one who had a direct conversation with Amad Diallo in January when he had the possibility to return to Sunderland. He also received an important proposal from Italy on a loan with a potential option to buy, so there were several possibilities.

“Ten Hag decided to trust the player. Amad Diallo did very well in the second part of the season, and especially in the final part of the season, now he’s expected to be an important player for United in the new season.

“What’s important to say is that now Amad Diallo has new agents, the same agents as Alejandro Garnacho, and this contract will be a topic at Manchester United in the next months.

“It’s important to see how he will start the season, how important it will be for United, but his contract will be one of the topics to discuss in the next months.”
