Manchester United have set a new Premier League record after the latest March awards were revealed.

Whilst the Reds‘ overall season has been poor, with them currently sitting in sixth place in the Premier League, there have also been some standout individual moments.

That has been reflected in some of the goals that Erik ten Hag’s side have scored. Kobbie Mainoo and Bruno Fernandes were the latest to net sublime finishes against Liverpool.

It was Fernandes who also scored a stunning volley against Burnley back in September to win the second Goal of the Season award in the Premier League campaign.

That was shortly followed by Alejandro Garnacho in November, whose incredible bicycle kick against Everton won the same award and is the front-runner for the end-of-season award as well.

Kobbie Mainoo joined the party in February courtesy of his excellent solo goal against Wolves in February.

Now, after Andoni Iraola and Rodrigo Muniz were awarded the Manager/Player of the Month respectively for March, United have another Goal of the Month to their name.

Marcus Rashford’s stunning strike against Manchester City last month was enough to win United their fourth Goal of the Month award this term despite coming out of that game with a defeat.

United have now had 10 separate occasions where they’ve landed top since the prize was introduced in 2016, and Rashford is the eighth different player from United to win.

The 26-year-old’s thunderbolt also set a new Premier League record, with United becoming the first club to have four separate victors in the same season.

Chelsea, on their way to winning the title in 2016/17, and West Ham, in 2020/21, both previously managed to have three in one term, but The Reds are the first to reach four.

After the latest Liverpool clash, with Mainoo and Fernandes’ goals, it could be a case that a United player bags their second Goal of the Month of the season and the fifth for the club.

United’s stellar finishing at times this season has saved their blushes in terms of their performance levels.

Hopefully, they will start being able to complement some incredible goals with consistent performances.
