Man United player CONFRONTED Douglas Luiz after celebration “fuelled” victory
Manchester United won 2-1 at Aston Villa after Douglas Luiz over-celebrated his second-half equaliser at Villa Park.
Luiz, 25, was the first to react to a shot from outside the box to help turn the ball into the back of the net. It was a moment that was coming in the game after Erik ten Hag’s side opened the scoring through Rasmus Højlund.

The celebration of the Villa midfield is what caught everybody’s eye. Luiz shimmed his shoulders in the direction of Raphaël Varane and André Onana.
However, once United substitute Scott McTominay headed in the winning goal for Ten Hag’s side, the French centre-back confronted Luiz before referee Robert Jones had to get between the two players.
A video clip of the moment has emerged, with United’s squad and fans celebrating the goal before Varane approached the opposition player and seemed to have a word with him.
After the game, Ten Hag was asked about the moment and suggested that whilst he did not see the confrontation at the end, Luiz’s celebration helped “fuel” the victory for his side.
“I don’t have an opinion on it,” replied Ten Hag when asked about the incident. “I haven’t spoken to the players. It may have fuelled the players. I don’t know.
“We have to think about our game. Not about the opposition. We always want to control the game and dictate it. That should be our approach.”
Varane was highlighted as one of four key men for United in this important victory by Sky Sports co-commentator Gary Neville.
The centre-back completed 93 per cent of his passes, won six out of seven duels and made 11 clearances throughout the game.
