Manchester United have a ‘plausible’ January transfer solution for Ruben Amorim which involves an interesting swap deal.

Ruben Amorim took over as Manchester United manager in November and has faced challenges during his initial matches at Old Trafford.

In his first 11 games, United have managed only four wins, emphasising the difficulties the team is encountering while adapting to Amorim’s system.

A handful of players, including Amad Diallo and Noussair Mazraoui, have demonstrated promise and potential for long-term roles under the Portuguese coach.

However, the struggles of many others highlight the pressing need for reinforcements in future transfer windows.

Zirkzee swap deal solution

Joshua Zirkzee is rumoured with an exit from United just months after joining the club, with the Italian club’s director refusing to rule out a deal.

The Reds and Juventus are reportedly in talks over a potential swap deal involving Zirkzee and their striker Dusan Vlahovic.

Journalist Enrico Camelio revealed on Radio Radio that the idea of a swap has been raised during the initial negotiations between the two clubs.

A deal for Zirkzee involves financial hurdles, as United are keen to recover their investment, while Juventus were proposing a loan arrangement with various conditions.

Camelio notes that the alternative of a direct swap deal with Vlahovic has now been discussed, which is a ‘plausible’ solution.

“We understand that the footballer (Zirkzee) is not at all happy in Manchester, he has not settled in and is not doing well,” he said on Radio Radio Lo Sport.

“In Italy he had done well in Parma and then very well in Bologna precisely with Motta. We are working on it, but there is an idea of an exchange between Vlahovic and Zirkzee, let’s see how the situation evolves.

“The idea is plausible; the Dutchman would find the coach who consecrated him again.”

Amorim wants to sign a striker at United

It is quite obvious that Zirkzee does not suit into Amorim’s plans, with the head coach recognising that he isn’t a no.9.

He played him in behind the striker last time out. Yeah, because I think he is not a number nine… a clear number nine,” he explained.

Rasmus Højlund is currently the only out-and-out striker at the club and Vlahovic would be a much more natural competitor than Zirkzee is.

The Serbian has scored 12 goals in 22 appearances for the Italian outfit so far this season.
