Man United fans must listen to important Ruben Amorim message in Bournemouth interview
Ruben Amorim delivered an important message following Manchester United’s disappointing 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds once again fell victim to a set-piece goal for the opening goal of the game, an ongoing weakness that Ruben Amorim and his coaching staff need to address promptly.
Although United showed promise in their overall play, they lacked a clinical edge in attack. A reckless challenge by Noussair Mazraoui early in the second half gifted Bournemouth a penalty, allowing them to double their lead.
As has been the case far too often, United unraveled after conceding, with a third goal following just two minutes after the penalty.
Despite their efforts and various chances created, Amorim’s side showed a lack of clinical nature that has been apparent from when Erik ten Hag was in charge before losing the Premier League clash.
Amorim sends message to United fans
Form has been extremely patchy since the new boss took charge, but it is certainly nothing that he did not anticipate.
In fact, while all of the supporters were getting excited after beating Everton 4-0, Amorim warned them that the result didn’t exactly match the performance. He explained that ‘a storm would come’ for United as they learn his new approach.
While the head coach appreciates that it is difficult for his team and the supporters right now, he also explains that, in this game, United were unfortunate to be on the wrong end of a significant scoreline.
“There are some moments in our careers that are like this, we have to improve, we have to score our goals and don’t concede so many goals,” he told club media.
“We are conceding, but there is not a lot chances for the opponent, they are more clinical. It happened against Tottenham and it happens today, so we have to work on that.
“It is really tough for our supporters and you can feel it. When we start the game, we already are anxious, everybody in the stadium, you can feel it in the first pass, in the first goal kick.
“Especially today… the supporters, they are angry, they are disappointed with the moment. I think it’s a difficult moment for our club. But we are ready for the challenge and we know what to do and we already knew.
“After Everton, I said the same thing, like ‘the storm is coming’, is saying that we are have to work on a lot of things and really improve in the future but I think we deserved more today, it is a hard day, let’s continue to work tomorrow.”
Amorim will not change his ways at United
We have already seen one manager at Old Trafford completely change their approach after some poor results, but it doesn’t seem like it will happen again under Amorim.
The 39-year-old’s tactics are starting to work and you can see how things will improve with better players. United’s forwards are getting a lot of chances but failing to take advantage.
United have conceded seven goals in their last two games but it has been a story of two teams being clinical and taking advantage of mistakes.
Obviously that is still a concern, but it is much better than the barrage of chances teams were getting against this United team beforehand.
Small steps are being made and Amorim wants the fans to understand the process his side is going through.
