“Teach them how…” Lisandro Martínez issues warning to two Man United stars
Lisandro Martínez has sent two Manchester United stars a warning following the FA Cup win over Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.
Manchester United showcased their finest performance of the season in a thrilling FA Cup final, defeating their rivals Manchester City under Erik ten Hag‘s strategic leadership.
The match started with high intensity, and United quickly took control. Alejandro Garnacho opened the scoring after a well-timed run saw him presented with an open goal, giving United an early lead. The momentum continued as Kobbie Mainoo, who was later named Player of the Match, doubled their advantage with a brilliant finish just before halftime.

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, the reigning Premier League champions, struggled to find their rhythm against United’s organized and disciplined approach. Despite a valiant effort and a goal from Jeremy Doku to reduce the deficit, City found it difficult to penetrate United’s resolute defence.
In the end, Manchester United emerged as the superior side, fully deserving of their hard-fought victory and lifting the FA Cup in a memorable performance.
One man who played a huge part in United’s brilliant win was centre-back Lisandro Martínez, who kept Erling Haaland in his back pocket for the 70 minutes he played. Speaking to Sony after the game, Martínez was asked about the performances of Mainoo and Garnacho.
Martínez went on to explain that although they deserve the trophy and praise, he also warned them that they must celebrate with “control”, to not get carried away.
“I think they deserve it. For sure, we need to show them the way, how to do it, because it’s difficult for them, for their age, to control, because they become famous, and you know, this kind of thing.
“It’s really important to show them, to teach them how to go in a good way, you know? So now, keep control, and yeah, celebrate, but with control.”
Speaking further, Martínez explained how he was lost for words regarding United fans, saying it’s “hard to lose” when they are in full voice.
“Manchester United fans is unbelievable, unbelievable,” he said. “It’s like, if you take their energy, like today, and a few games also in this season and the last season, it’s difficult to lose, eh? It’s difficult, honestly.
“It’s difficult because they have… I can’t describe it. They have different energy than the rest. And they support us even when we lose a terrible game this season. They support us against Crystal Palace. I was, like, so proud of them, so proud.
“And today, we thought about them, and we said together, we have to do it; we have to do it because of them, because of our fans. They were unbelievable, unbelievable during all the seasons, during all the years.”
