“Stay away…” Manchester United hit with blow as “phenomenal” star distances himself from transfer
Manchester United have been hit with a blow after one of their reported transfer targets has distanced himself from current transfer speculation.
Manchester United are set to prioritise attacking reinforcements this summer as Rúben Amorim’s side continue to struggle in front of goal.
United’s lack of firepower has been a recurring issue this season, with the team often failing to score more than once per game. Their inconsistent form at Old Trafford has only added to concerns.
Last month, the club loaned out several first-team forwards, with Antony joining Real Betis, Marcus Rashford moving to Aston Villa, and Ethan Wheatley heading to Walsall for the remainder of the season.
Despite these departures, United did not bring in any attacking reinforcements during the January window. Their only additions were defensive signings—left-back Patrick Dorgu from Lecce and centre-back Ayden Heaven from Arsenal—though Amorim has hinted that Dorgu could also be deployed in a more advanced role.
Delap distances transfer speculation
According to recent reports, United have been pondering a move for Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap, who has taken the Premier League by storm despite the Tractor Boys’ relegation threat.
The 22-year-old has scored ten Premier League goals this season amid a “phenomenal” individual campaign and is expected to continue his hot run of form under former United coach Kiran McKenna, who manages the Suffolk club.
However, speaking recently, the player has distanced himself from all transfer speculation, explaining that he is only focused on where he is now.
“It’s ingrained in us as footballers. It’s so important, especially for me, to focus on where I’m at now. I’m so happy here, I’m enjoying it so much here. I just look forward to playing football. I take every game as it comes and focus on the next,” he said.

“It is something that I try and stay away from. People around me have told me to stay away from it, it’s something that I’m very good at in focusing on what I want to do. That’s playing football here,” he said.
“I’m really enjoying my time here and I enjoy playing every week. That’s the most important thing.”
