Leny Yoro sends message after Man Utd debut as Fabrizio Romano provides important update on defender
Leny Yoro has shown his true colours with a seven-word message after he made his Manchester United debut earlier this week.
Manchester United lost 2-0 against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening in Ruben Amorim’s fourth game in charge of the club.
It was the Portuguese boss’ first defeat after drawing against Ipswich Town and winning against Bode/Glimt and Everton.
Despite the negative result, there were several positives to take from the clash, including Leny Yoro’s performance on his debut.
Yoro returned to the pitch as a second-half substitute after suffering injury against the Gunners in a pre-season friendly.
He impressed during the cameo and produced some solid defensive moments, especially when defending one-versus-one against Leandro Trossard.
“To be injured and come in, and it wasn’t just coming in and doing quite well,” said Rio Ferdinand on the defender’s first game.
“He got in two situations one-versus-one on his own, edge of the box and on his own. Dealt with it, dealt with them both really well.”
After the game, Yoro reacted himself to his debut with ‘mixed feelings’ but is looking ahead to the future at Old Trafford.
“Mixed feelings but here we are, finally. #GodDid,” he wrote on his Instagram page.
While the French defender will be extremely eager to show what he’s all about now that he’s back from injury, United and Amorim want to be careful with him.
Fabrizio Romano reports that the 19-year-old’s game-time will be managed to avoid any injury in the next few weeks.
It is understandable that United want to take care with Yoro’s reintegration to the starting lineup but fans will be eager to see him more after that debut performance.
