Manchester United’s positive Leny Yoro injury update, Kobbie Mainoo issues strong message
Manchester United have issued a positive update on the injury situation surrounding Leny Yoro as Kobbie Mainoo issues a strong message ahead of 2024/25.
Manchester United‘s 2024 pre-season saw the club play five games across three countries, winning two and losing three in the process.
However, Erik ten Hag will have positives to take from the tour. Mason Mount and Harry Amass impressed, while Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, and others also provided positive displays.

However, the club’s major concern revolves around the two significant injuries sustained. Both Leny Yoro and Rasmus Højlund had to be substituted in the first half against Arsenal, with the former subsequently ruled out for three months.
However, United have now issued a relatively positive update on the situation, explaining that Yoro has successfully undergone surgery on his foot and will now enter a phase of rehabilitation.
A club statement read, “Manchester United defender Leny Yoro has today had a successful surgery on his foot injury.
“Our summer signing from Lille sustained the injury during the team’s recent friendly match against Arsenal in Los Angeles, USA.
“Yoro’s rehabilitation starts now and we look forward to the 18-year-old returning to fitness in around three months.”
Meanwhile, Kobbie Mainoo was one of four players to return to training following extended holidays after their respective international duties.
Lisandro Martínez, Luke Shaw, and Facundo Pellistri all also rejoined training, with Mainoo sending a strong message on his social media that showed he is looking to continue to work hard during what will be his first full season as a United first-team member.
“We back, let’s work,” Mainoo wrote on Instagram, accompanied by a photo of him arriving back at Carrington and further images of him training in the club attire once again.
