Leeds United sacked manager Jesse Marsch on Monday ahead of their Premier League fixture against Manchester United on Wednesday evening.

The Whites have not won in the league since the 5th of November and dismissed the American following their 1-0 loss against Nottingham Forest on the weekend.

They are currently only avoiding the relegation zone through goal difference after Everton’s shock win against league-leaders Arsenal on Saturday.

United will host Leeds at Old Trafford midweek before travelling to Elland Road on the weekend.

The 17th-placed side confirmed that they will have the trio of Michael Skubala, Paco Gallardo and Chris Armas take charge of the first encounter against The Reds.

Armas was part of Ralf Rangnick’s backroom staff at the Theatre of Dreams last term during his interim spell. He joined Leeds in January to support Marsch. Gallardo also joined the staff at Elland Road midseason.

Skubala has been the club’s under-21s head coach since the start of this campaign and will be the one conducting media duties ahead of the clash.

Leeds United’s statement read: “Following the announcement of the departure of head coach Jesse Marsch earlier today, Leeds United can confirm Michael Skubala, Paco Gallardo and Chris Armas will take training at Thorp Arch on Tuesday and will be in the dugout for Wednesday’s Premier League fixture against Manchester United at Old Trafford.”

The Reds have got the better of their historical rivals on most occasions since they returned to the Premier League. The last time out was a 4-2 victory for United on a horrible afternoon in Leeds.

After the weekend’s fixtures, Erik ten Hag’s side moved into third and are now just three points away from Manchester City in second.
