Latest team news: Manchester United vs Leicester City (Premier League)
On Sunday, Manchester United will welcome Leicester at Old Trafford in a bid to extend their recent good form.
Manchester United will be strong favourites because they haven’t suffered a home loss since the season’s inaugural weekend. This is a result of the outstanding performances from Erik ten Hag‘s men since the World Cup, as they have lost just once in their 16 games across all tournaments since club football resumed.
The Europa League knockout round play-off first leg ended in a very respectable 2-2 draw for Ten Hag’s Reds against La Liga leaders Barcelona. They cannot yet be completely written off because they are still a number of points behind Manchester City and Arsenal.
Around the time of the news that the first round of bidding has already begun for the sale of United, they face off against a Leicester team that just destroyed Tottenham 4-1 and look to be on the rise.

Injury prevented Antony, Anthony Martial, and Scott McTominay from travelling, though Ten Hag had earlier in the week said that all three were improving in their rehabilitation – but, the coach believes that additional time spent on the training is necessary before he can determine who of the trio can re-join the team for the match against Leicester.
“Maybe. We have to wait until tomorrow. Maybe one or two players can return, yeah,” said the boss while speaking to the media on Friday afternoon.

Before re-joining the team for the EFL Cup final the following weekend, Casemiro will complete the final game of his domestic three-game suspension for aggressive behaviour and hence will not be available against the Foxes.
“You don’t want to miss them in the squad, in Barcelona. They are important players for our team.
“They are back in the squad, which is good. That will strengthen the squad, so we will have a good team on Sunday,” said Ten Hag when talking about Marcel Sabitzer and Lisandro Martinez.
Due to long term injuries, Donny van de Beek and Christian Eriksen are still unavailable.
Leicester City
For the Foxes, former Red Devil Jonny Evans will not be available in time to return to Old Trafford since he is still battling thigh discomfort.
Youri Tielemans, who had a calf issue, and Boubakary Soumare , who had a hamstring problem, have both been practising on the grass and might possibly make a comeback this weekend.
Right-back Ricardo Pereira is also available again after rupturing his Achilles tendon. As for James Maddison, he was confirmed to be “fine” and training well by Brendan Rodgers while speaking to the media on Friday.
