Kobbie Mainoo’s message to Newcastle is clear as Premier League club ‘makes contact’ for Man Utd transfer

Kobbie Mainoo has made his message to Newcastle United clear as the Premier League side ‘make contact’ for the Manchester United talent.

With Manchester United’s new campaign now underway, many have wondered how Ruben Amorim is going to get the best out of all his talented midfielders and attackers.

Amorim has seen three new attackers enter the club in the likes of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Šeško, which has forced captain Bruno Fernandes into a deeper role.

So far in the two Premier League games that the Red Devils have played, Kobbie Mainoo has been left as an unused substitute, with Fernandes playing in his preferred position.

This has caused many concerns regarding Mainoo’s future at the club, and with only a week left in the transfer window, it has been rumoured that the talented midfielder could seek new pastures.

Newcastle ask about Mainoo deal

With next summer presenting us with the 2026 World Cup, it would be no surprise if Mainoo were to request more game time than he is currently getting, as he will be eager to be part of Thomas Tuchel’s plans.

Whether this game time is at United or elsewhere remains an unanswered question, although, with the Reds not being in European competitions, their need for additional depth is lessened, which may further lessen Mainoo’s minutes.

Journalist Jason Soutar has now reported that Newcastle United are one of the clubs interested in the talented 20-year-old, and they have asked about the conditions of a deal.

The report also states that the player is open to leaving United this summer and is one to watch as the window draws to a close.

Mainoo’s message to English sides

As reported by The Athletic, the young Englishman would rather a move to Europe, as opposed to another Premier League club such as Newcastle in a clear message to all those interested in him across England.

The report states that Mainoo is thought to prefer moving to the continent rather than staying in the Premier League, even though there has been interest from closer to home. It adds that he has previously explored options in Germany while coming through the club’s Academy.

Hopefully for both United and Mainoo, Amorim can figure out a way to not only implement the talented 20-year-old in his plans but also get the best out of his undeniable ability.

Tonight’s fixture away at Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup Second Round should give Mainoo his first start of the season, whilst plans regarding his future continue to develop behind the scenes.
