Kobbie Mainoo gives important advice to Man United teammates after “pressure” question
Kobbie Mainoo has seemingly provided some of his Manchester United teammates some important advice when asked how he handles pressure.
Mainoo, 19, has quickly emerged as one of Erik ten Hag’s most important players at United despite only making his full Premier League debut six months ago.
The teenager has been one of the few bright lights during a dim season at Old Trafford and was awarded an England debut because of his form.
His rise to stardom has been extremely quick and that has brought upon a wave of opposition who was to see the new United player fail.
However, Mainoo continues to do his own thing in a United midfield that is typically difficult to play in at the moment.
How Mainoo deals with his quick rise and pressure
When asked by Stadium Astro about dealing with his two-year rise from the FA Youth Cup to an England call-up, Mainoo responded:
“It definitely all happened quickly, but I had to just take it in my stride and try to just keep my head down and keep on working hard.”
Then questioned about how he handles the pressure and hype surrounding him, Mainoo added, “Just try not to listen to noise too much and just focus on myself and the people around me and keep playing football.”
It can be important advice
While Mainoo is only a teenager, his off-the-pitch demeanour resembles a seasoned pro, and many of his teammates could take the advice he provided.
There is so much noise surrounding the Old Trafford club, with most of it being negative, and that is part of the reason that certain players have failed at United.
Being able to block that out is one half of the battle as a Manchester United player.
