Juventus enquire about three Manchester United forwards as Serie A transfer war commenses

Juventus have enquired about three Manchester United forwards this summer as Rúben Amorim braces for a potential Serie A transfer war.

Without a major sale so far this summer transfer window, Manchester United aim to bring in an impressive revenue on three players outlawed of Rúben Amorim’s plans for 2025/26.

Rasmus Højlund, Jadon Sancho, and Marcus Rashford, who had 135 combined appearances in all competitions last season, have been announced to be excluded from Amorim’s squad plans for the season. Players who are staggered by age, but are all entering crucial parts of their careers.

Juventus struggled last year, scraping into the Champions League places by a point, with former manager Thiago Motta being ousted late last season.

So far, the Old Lady have had a busy transfer window, signing Nico Gonzalez, Lloyd Kelly, and Jonathan David, who was reported as a transfer target for the Reds. Now, Tuttosport have reported that Juventus have enquired about the three United’s forwards.

Juventus eyeing Old Trafford shopping spree

Højlund is a player who was expected to excel at United; the £72 million transfer fee certainly suggested so. Despite starting well in the Champions League, the Dane failed to score in his first 18 Premier League games and has been sporadic in his scoring ever since.

With United’s No. 9 coming under consistent and increasing pressure, it looks like his time in Manchester is coming to an end. Højlund has been reporting for pre-season training, but a possible move away from the club will surely be playing on his mind, as he prepares for an uncertain 2025/26 season.

Sancho follows suit, after an infamous transfer saga between Borussia Dortmund and United, the winger signed for the club for £73 million in 2021. Since then, the now 25-year-old has been prone to controversy.

Inconsistency, dressing room drama, and injuries have plagued his time in Manchester. A clash between former manager Erik ten Hag provisionally sealed his future at the club, leading to a somewhat rallying loan back at Dortmund and a slightly underwhelming loan at Chelsea last season.

However, with Juventus interested in the winger, they may have to engage in a transfer war for Sancho after Inter Milan reportedly initiated contact with United surrounding a potential transfer.

Overall, United have two players with incredible value, both as assets and with their apparent ability, but the chances of making a financial gain on the sale of these two players are slim.

Local Boy Rashford could find his spark back at Juventus

Rashford became a player beloved by the United faithful after his quick insertion into the first team in 2016. He announced his arrival to top-tier football in a stellar debut against Midtjylland in the Europa League, in which he scored twice.

The Wythenshawe boy had become a beacon of hope in a turbulent nine years for the Reds, scoring 89 Premier League goals since Jose Mourinho trusted him to start against Arsenal.

Now at 27, Rashford’s time at United seems to be at an end. A dispute with Amorim at the start of his tenure led to him being exiled from the squad until his loan move in January to Aston Villa, making ten appearances and scoring twice.

Reports suggest Rashford is holding out for his dream move to Barcelona, but growing interest from Juventus will give him an important decision to make.

Spending nine years lighting up the Stretford End and winning five trophies in that time has been the best years of his career so far. If Marcus’ time in Manchester is over, United fans will wish him the best for the future.
