Juventus ‘closely observing’ Manchester United star for 12 months, they think he’s a “wildcard” signing

Juventus are reportedly weighing up a move for one of Manchester United’s outcast players who they believe could be a wildcard signing this summer.

Manchester United are urgently seeking to raise fresh funds this summer as they aim to reshape Rúben Amorim’s squad at Old Trafford.

The club are planning a major overhaul of their attack, having already secured Matheus Cunha and pushing ahead with talks to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.

But the acquisition of the two wide forwards has exhausted their initial transfer budget, meaning any further additions—particularly a striker and a midfielder—will need to be financed through player sales.

United are actively looking to sell Jadon SanchoMarcus RashfordAlejandro Garnacho, and Antony, while even Rasmus Højlund could be allowed to leave for the right offer.

Juventus eyeing wildcard United transfer

The attacking market this summer is very much one to watch – many big clubs across Europe are looking to secure fresh attacking talent. With United open to letting four wingers leave this summer, multiple clubs across England and Europe are contemplating potential deals with the club.

One such club is Juventus, who Corriere dello Sport claims are considering a potential move for Sancho this summer amid interest from Fenerbahce and Napoli.

The Italian report states that Juventus have held an interest in Sancho for 12 months and attempted to land the 25-year-old prior to his eventual loan to Chelsea. However, with the player back on the market, they are closely observing his situation.

Juventus reportedly see Sancho as a “wildcard” signing this summer, as United are only demanding around £25 million for the player.

However, their interest in Sancho hinges on the futures of Francisco Conceiçao and Nico Gonzalez. The former is at Juventus on loan, and the Bianconeri want to sign him permanently, but only for less than the £25 million release clause in his FC Porto contract. Meanwhile, Gonzalez’s future remains uncertain.

Sancho’s main roadblock is his wages

Jadon Sancho is believed to be on a contract worth in excess of £300,000 a week at United, and the player is unwilling to accept a significant reduction in his current salary to facilitate a move.

Multiple reports have suggested that United’s £25 million demands for Sancho are not seen as an issue by Napoli and other interested clubs, but there are very few clubs willing to entertain his wage demands.

The only likely places that Sancho could find a wage similar to his current salary are either in Turkey or Saudi Arabia. Still, the winger is reportedly keen on remaining in Europe’s top five leagues.

United and Sancho both want his sale to be permanent this summer, but to do so, the player must accept that he will not see another contract handing him the money he wants until he can once again prove himself on the pitch.
