Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has issued five fresh injury updates on his squad ahead of the FA Cup quarter-final clash against Manchester United on Sunday.

The competition offers United and Erik ten Hag their last chance of silverware during an underwhelming second season under the Dutchman.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are fighting on all fronts after winning the Carabao Cup last month and securing their place in the last eight of the Europa League on Thursday.

Klopp, who is leaving the Merseyside club at the end of the season, and Ten Hag have both dealt with many injuries across the campaign for their respective clubs.

The Liverpool boss has issued several updates ahead of the FA Cup game at Old Trafford. He has suggested that Curtis Jones, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota will not be fit in time to face United but are all closing in on returns to action afterwards.

“Curtis [Jones has a chance to return in the international break] then Diogo [Jota] and Trent [Alexander-Arnold] the week after, they have a chance,” he told reporters on Friday.

Speaking on young midfielder Stefan Bajčetić, Klopp added: “Bajcetic feels something, but it’s not injuries, it’s intensity. We don’t want to use him before he’s really ready. His body was not really ready for the intensity. He is in a much better place now, but we have to wait. [He will be] part of team training after the international break.”

The only potential player to return to the fixture for the visitors is defender Ibrahim Konate, however, Klopp admitted that it is unlikely that he passes a fitness test in time.

“It will be a tight race [to be fit to play Man United on Sunday] that we will probably lose,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Ten Hag has confirmed that Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Rasmus Højlund will be available for the clash.

The game kicks off at 3:30pm (UK time) on Sunday afternoon and will be broadcast live on ITV1 and ITVX.
