Joshua Zirkzee reveals three ex-Manchester United stars have already spoken to him about his transfer

Joshua Zirkzee has revealed that three former Manchester United players have already spoken to him about his move to Old Trafford.
On Sunday afternoon, Manchester United officially announced the signing of Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee from Serie A‘s Bologna on a five-year deal, set to last until 2029.
Reports indicate that Erik ten Hag‘s team paid approximately £36 million for Zirkzee, a fee slightly above his release clause. United opted to pay the higher amount to allow for instalment payments over several seasons rather than the £34 million upfront.

Zirkzee, known for his versatility across the front line, joins the club to compete with Rasmus Højlund for the striker position. Standing at 6 feet 4 inches, he brings a significant height advantage to United’s attack.
On Wednesday afternoon, the club released Zirkzee’s first official interview as a Manchester United player. In it, he was asked if he had spoken to any of the former United players in the Dutch camp.
United had three former stars in that camp, Memphis Depay, Daley Blind, and Wout Weghorst, who had previously donned the red shirt. Zirkzee revealed that all three of them were happy for him.
Yeah, they were all very happy for me,” Zirkzee explained. Daley and Memphis, they were here before. “They had a lot of good things to say about the club. And yeah, when it was time for me to go, they just wished me the best of luck.”
Speaking on the move, he said: “Obviously, I’m at a good point in my career. Making a transfer to United is positive. I can’t wait to get started and continue what I did last season and do the best I can.”
