Joshua Zirkzee agrees personal terms with Man United, wages revealed
Joshua Zirkzee’s move to Manchester United is edging closer after the forward agreed personal terms with the Old Trafford outfit.
Zirkzee, 23, is the player that United are looking to sign in order to bolster the frontline at the club.
Rasmus Højlund is currently the only recognised centre-forward, and INEOS quickly identified the position as a priority this summer.
With a £34 million release clause in his Bologna contract, a deal for Zirkzee is favourable for United, even with a reported sizable agent fee on top.
A new report from Voetbal International has claimed that Zirkzee has reached a personal agreement with United and will join the club after Euro 2024.
All that is left before the Netherlands international moves are clauses in the 23-year-old’s current contract.
Meanwhile, Nick Semararo has detailed the wage packet that Zirkzee will be on at Old Trafford.
The journalist has reported that United’s contract offer is around £5 million per year, including bonuses and will be a five-year deal until 2029.
That puts Zirkzee on around £96,000 per week, which many will consider a good amount for the talented player.
INEOS will aim to improve the club’s wage bill after many years of overpaying players, which caused a snowball effect that was not good for the team.
It seems like they are doing that. Reports have also stated that Matthijs de Ligt is set to take a pay cut to join United.
