Jose Mourinho ‘wants’ to resign Manchester United star who joined him in 2017
According to reports, Jose Mourinho wants to resign a player at his new club, Fenerbahçe, that he purchased for Manchester United back in 2017.
Jose Mourinho‘s time at Manchester United was a mixed bag. He has been the club’s most successful manager since Sir Alex Ferguson retired, but his departure from Old Trafford was sour.
Mourinho brought much-needed arrogance back to United when he signed in 2016, signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Eric Bailly in his first summer window, who all became immediately important at the club.

He then won two trophies during his first season, the EFL Cup and Europa League, before signing those such as Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic, and Victor Lindelöf in 2017. He was then sacked in December 2018 after his relationship with the ownership and squad became toxic beyond repair.
However, he is still loved by many fans at the club and worldwide. So, when he was announced as the new manager of Turkish Super Lig Fenerbahçe last month, there was naturally a lot of intrigue.
His first summer in charge has seen the Istanbul club target many high-profile names, and now, it has been reported that Mourinho wants to reunite with Lindelöf this summer.
According to Fotomac, Fenerbahçe are “excited” about the potential signing of the Swedish international this summer and have started contact “for the transfer of the star wearing the Manchester United jersey”.
“Having prepared a list of alternatives to reinforce the centre-back, the first name Mourinho wants is his former student from Manchester United, Victor Lindelöf,” the report states.
Continuing, the Turkish outlet describes Lindelöf as “bored” with the situation at United, where he is no longer a first-choice defender.
Fenerbahçe are reportedly set to offer around £6.7 million for Lindelöf this summer. As the two clubs have good relations, the Turkish side “expects to finalise” a transfer soon.
