“One day…” Jose Mourinho addresses Manchester United return in fresh admission
Jose Mourinho has addressed his chances of a return to Manchester United ahead of the clash between Erik ten Hag and his Fenerbahce side.
Manchester United will continue their Europa League journey on Thursday evening, travelling to face Fenerbahce in their third group stage match.
So far, United have had a frustrating start in the competition, drawing their opening games against FC Twente and FC Porto, leading to increased pressure on manager Erik ten Hag.

However, after the return of domestic football last weekend, United showed their fighting spirit, producing a thrilling second-half comeback to defeat Brentford at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
The match against Fenerbahce brings an interesting subplot, as former United manager Jose Mourinho, who left in 2018, is now in charge of the Turkish club.
To add to the drama, ex-United midfielders Fred and Sofyan Amrabat, both previously under Ten Hag’s management, now play for Fenerbahce and will face their former teammates.
Jose’s United return?
Speaking to the press on Wednesday, Mourinho was asked about United, and he explained that he would like nothing more than to see the club succeed once again.
“I will always repeat the same thing: I want them to be successful,” Mourinho stressed. “They’re not playing against me in the Premier League. Tomorrow, I want to win, that is a basic of football.
“I wish the best to everyone there: the coaches, the players, everybody. I know only three or four players are there from my time. Not many. But I wish them all the best.”
Mourinho has been tentatively linked with a return to the club at some point in the future, but he admitted that if he goes back to the Premier League, he would more likely be their opponent rather than managing the club himself.
“Maybe you English guys think I’m bluffing or playing mind games, I’m not playing anything. They have a better team than the results show. Of course, I study them the maximum I could with my staff, my analysts. We watch everything, even in the two matches – Twente and Porto. There is work there. There is work there.
“They will succeed sooner or later, hopefully, sooner and hopefully before one day I go back to the Premier League, and I become their opponent.”
