Jorge Mendes preferred Joao Felix destination revealed ahead of Manchester United January transfer window
Jorge Mendes is keen to see through a deal for Joao Felix to join Manchester United, according to reports in Spain.
Joao Felix, after signing for Atletico Madrid for a fee of around £110 million in 2019 from Portuguese side Benfica, may be on the move as it seems he has become a fairly unwanted man in the Spanish capital.
He has scored four goals and provided a further three assists in 18 appearances so far this season, stretching across 818 minutes – and although the club turned down a €130 million bid from Manchester United in the summer, it looks as if Atleti are looking to complete a deal for the forward before the end of the summer window.

This is according to Spanish outlet Relevo, who claim that United, Arsenal, and Chelsea are all circling the Portuguese wonderkid.
According to the report, Atleti are asking for €130-140m for the player, but will be happy to settle for an initial loan move in January with a compulsory buy clause in the summer.
Felix’s agent, Jorge Mendes, is said to be intensifying talks with both Manchester United and Arsenal, however is much more welcoming to reach an agreement with United in order to repair damages created by the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Chelsea are also said to be in discussions for the player, however those talks are said to be “further away” than those of the two aforementioned clubs.

It is said that a solution to the future of Joao Felix could be determined in the first week of January, with Atleti no doubt keen to get business done early so they can then target their own forward in the rest of the window.
With Ronaldo leaving the club in December and few guaranteed goal threats at the club, Erik ten Hag may see Felix as a brilliant addition to increase the threat of United’s attack going into the second half of the season, potentially alongside Dutch forward Cody Gakpo.
